“Seeds for Wellbeing” Project worker named
The innovative “Sowing the Seeds for Wellbeing” program took a major step forward this week with the appointment of Carly Boutcher as its Project Worker.
Funded by the Department of Health and Aging through the Healthy Active Communities initiative, the program aims to encourage the growing and consumption of more fruit and vegetables among Waranga regional communities.
The program also promotes the establishment of more fruit and vegetable gardens in both communal venues and private settings, and encourages physical activity and other
health-promoting activities in these rural environments.

SSW representatives (L-R) Janice Symons, Brian Wright, Cate Fraser, Anne McEvoy, Michele Hanson, Maxine Ryan Debbie Bish and Stephanie Allen congratulate Carly Boutcher after her first group meeting.
Carly Boutcher was appointed to the Project Worker position after completing a three year degree course in Public Health at the Bendigo Campus of La Trobe University. She applied for the position as it merged her interests in public health, horticulture and photography and was delighted to be selected.
“Best of all, it gives me a chance to work in Rushworth – a place that’s always fascinated me”, Carly told the Waranga News this week.
Now employed by Goulburn Valley Health, Carly will be based at the GVH Waranga Community Health building in Hume St (off Reed St), Rushworth. She welcomes community suggestions and input to the project, and can be conducted during business hours on 0408 300 093.
